the name "450nm" is a reference to the wavelength of blue light, noting the monochrome blue palette and the iridescence of the rhinestones in person.

preparation step: holes for trucks are filled in with hot glue, boards are sanded down, d rings and photo wire are added to reverse side, and reverse side is covered with duct tape.
boards are then primed with white gesso and sketch is laid out with pencil.
colors are lightly written in for each block and then layered on one at a time. lineart is done in white and/or black paint pen. for "250 nm," rhinestones are attached one at a time using strong craft glue. finally, finished pieces are varnished for display.
